SARATOGA LAKE -- A drunken boater crashed into another vessel Sunday evening on Saratoga Lake, seriously injuring an occupant on the other boat, Saratoga County sheriff's officials said.

The injured boater was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment of a serious hand injury, officials said.

Sara M. Savoca, 34, of Waterford, is accused of causing the crash. She was charged with second-degree vehicular assault, a felony, along with operating a vessel while intoxicated and reckless operation of a vessel, misdemeanors.

The incident happened just before 7 p.m. Savoca's boat struck the other vessel in the Sandy Bay area of the lake, police said. The other vessel had been tied up at the time, officials said.

Savoca was released to appear in Stillwater Town Court later.
