UTV operator critically injured in Fulton County crash

BLEECKER - A Sunday evening crash sent a UTV driver to Albany Medical Center in critical condition, Fulton County Sheriff 's officials said.

The driver, Joshua Gagne, was taken to Albany Med by Mercy Flight helicopter. His age and city or town of residence were not included in a release.

The crash happened at about 6 p.m. Sunday on Barlow Road in the Town of Bleecker, officials said.

The UTV, a utility task vehicle, was traveling southwest on Barlow before it failed to keep right and crossed into the oncoming lane, officials said.

The vehicle then exited the highway, overturned and struck multiple trees. The operator required extraction by first-responders.

The Caroga Lake Volunteer Fire Department and EMS, Meco Fire Department, Fulton County Emergency Services coordinators, GAVAC and state DEC rangers assisted at the scene.

The accident remained under investigation Monday.
