George Taylor, a 15-year-old with cancer from Cohoes, will be featured in this year’s upcoming “My Wish” series on ESPN.
In its 14th year, Make-A-Wish’s and ESPN’s “My Wish” series showcases five wishes, documenting the experience from when a participant first finds out his or her wish will be granted until its conclusion. Taylor’s wish saw him meet reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants.
“The ‘My Wish’ series gives viewers the opportunity to experience the transformational impact a wish has on a child, their family and their community,” William C. Trigg, III, chief executive officer of Make-A-Wish Northeast New York, said in a press release. “You can see the difference in George as he replaces fear with confidence, anxiety with hope, and sadness with joy through the excitement of having his wish granted to meet Saquon Barkley.”
The “My Wish” series starts airing Saturday and will continue through next Thursday. Taylor’s story will debut 8 a.m. Saturday, will re-air on various editions of SportsCenter through Sunday and will be available on other ESPN platforms.
