Former University at Albany football running back Elijah Ibitokun-Hanks announced Tuesday with a tweet that he will transfer to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, an FCS competitor in the Southern Conference.

In 2016, Ibitokun-Hanks rushed for 1,388 yards and 16 touchdowns, but ended his season by suffering a torn left ACL in the Great Danes’ season finale. Ibitokun-Hanks earned a variety of preseason honors prior to the 2017 season, but was only healthy enough to play in one game. In 2018, Ibitokun-Hanks appeared in all 11 games for UAlbany, and rushed for 767 yards and four touchdowns.

Ibitokun-Hanks announced his decision to leave the UAlbany program last January.
