SCHENECTADY - A Schenectady 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with a gunpoint street robbery, authorities said.

Belford M. Atchinson, 18, of Jerry Street, was arrested early last Tuesday at his residence, shortly after the incident near the corner of State and Robinson streets in Schenectady.

Atchinson is accused of displaying what appeared to be a pistol to a group of four individuals and then taking from them three cell phones and a vape pen, according to police allegations filed in court.

Police arrested Atchinson shortly afterward at his residence and found him in possession of one of the cell phones and the vape pen, according to the police allegations.

Atchinson faces four counts of second-degree robbery, felonies, and one count of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor.

Atchinson has since been released on $15,000 bond. He is due back in court later.
