SCHENECTADY - A car caught fire near SUNY Schenectady late Tuesday morning.

The driver escaped the car without injury.

Schenectady firefighters responded to the scene just after 11 a.m. They arrived to find a BMW on fire.

The car caught fire in front of the college on Washington Avenue, near the intersection with State Street.

Firefighters got water onto the vehicle, focusing on the car's engine compartment, dousing the blaze.
