1952: The Holstein-Friessen Association of America announces a Holstein owned by Fred Baer of Fort Plain had a record lifetime production of 100,000 pounds of milk, four times the average for a U.S. cow.
1965: A hailstorm swiftly destroys the crops on the William Czernis farm in Mariaville, doing $5,000 worth of damage and "threshing" the corn, oats and barley.
