COLONIE - A Colonie man is facing weapons charges after an apartment maintenance worker spotted marijuana and a gun in his apartment, police said.

Police described a gun found as an assault rifle.

Police Monday arrested Johnny W. Williams, 38, of 354 Shaker Run, Colonie, and charged him with multiple felony weapons counts, and a felony marijuana count.

A maintenance worker at his apartment complex entered the apartment to fix an air conditioner and spotted the items alerted police, police said.

Police soon got a search warrant and discovered a Rock River AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, numerous high-capacity magazines, along with three pounds of marijuana and some marijuana plants, police said. 

Williams was arraigned and ordered held.
