SCHENECTADY - Two people have been charged in connection with separate stabbings, authorities said.
In the first case, a city woman broke a bottle and used it to stab a man and in the other, a man at a restaurant used a knife to cut a woman in the arm, according to police allegations filed in court.
In the bottle case, Samantha M. Lopez, 45, of McClellan Street, was arrested last Thursday and charged with one count of second-degree assault, a felony.
Lopez is accused of breaking the bottle and stabbing the victim at a McClellan Street apartment just after 10 p.m. Aug. 1, according to police allegations filed in court.
The victim, a 42-year-old man, suffered cuts and was treated at the scene, according to the allegations.
In the second case, Zhang Xueyong, 52, of Washington, D.C., was arrested Friday and charged with one count of second-degree assault.
He is accused of using a knife to hit the victim in the arm at about 3 p.m. Friday at No. 1 Chinese Restaurant on State Street, causing a cut, according to police allegations.
