Severe thunderstorm warning expires for area from Amsterdam to Saratoga Springs

ALBANY - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for an area from Amsterdam to Saratoga Springs  has expired, according to the National Weather Service.

The warning covered parts of Fulton and Montgomery, as well as most of central Saratoga County and a small portion of northern Schenectady County.

Quarter sized hail was possible with the storms, with wind up to 60 mph.

The warning was due to a line of fast-moving storms sweeping into the area and pushing east, the National Weather Service said.

Earlier warnings for Fulton, Montgomery, Schoharie and parts of western Schenectady and Albany counties expired at 5:15 p.m.
