GUILDERLAND -- A large fight at Crossgates Mall late Saturday night led to two arrests and resulted in two officers being injured, police said.
Both officers sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention afterward, police said.
The two arrested were both juveniles, ages not given, and each not only faces charges of second-degree assault, a felony, but also those of resisting arrest and criminal trespass, both misdemeanors.
A total of 14 area police agencies ultimately responded to the call, police said.
The incident started with a fight between several females reported just before 11 p.m. at an event at the "Get Air Trampoline Park" at Crossgates. An estimated 400 to 500 were in attendance.
When Guilderland officers attempted to break up that fight, a large crowd gathered around them and became unruly, police said. Two officers were then assaulted by multiple people.
The two juveniles, whose names were not released due to their ages, were charged and released to their parents, police said.
Responding to the call to assist Guilderland were: Bethlehem, Colonie, Albany, Troy, Green Island, Watervliet, SUNY, Cohoes and ENCON police, along with Albany, Saratoga and Schenectady county sheriff's deputies and the state police.
