GLENVILLE — Melissa Cherubino has been named director of community development for the town of Glenville, the town announced Thursday.

Cherubino worked most recently as a project manager for The Community Builders, Inc. Earlier, she worked as director of building and planning and held other positions with the city of Cohoes. She will start the $80,000-salary job on Monday, Aug. 19.

She holds a law degree from Albany Law School, a masters' in public affairs from the Rockeffer College at the University of Albany, and a bachelor's degree from Trinity College.

In Glenville, she will be overseeing planning, zoning, code enforcement and building inspections. The position is newly created, following re-organization of departments after town planner Kevin Corcoran retired last spring.
