GLOVERSVILLE - A former Gloversville man stole more than $95,000 from the chiropractic clinic where he was once employed, state police said.

State police last week arrested Thomas M. Morgan, 48, most recently of Kingsland, Ga., and charged him with one count of second-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Morgan once worked at Active & Well Family Chiropractic in Gloversville. While there, he is accused of redirecting more than 800 insurance payment checks to himself over a three-year period, state police said.

The state police investigation began in January when Gloversville police received a complaint that multiple patient insurance payments never made it to the company bank account, state police said.

Gloversville police then contacted the state police Special Investigations Unit Financial Crimes Unit for assistance, troopers said.

The investigation then determined that Morgan took about 828 checks in all over the three years and cashed them at a local convenience store, state police said.

Morgan was arraigned and released on $2,500 bail, state police said.
