A 26-year-old Albany man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly forging a New York state license plate, according to a release from State Police.

State Police stopped a vehicle on Grand Street in Albany at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday after spotting what appeared to be a fake license plate. Police arrested the driver of the car, Evan Fernandez, and charged him with second degree forgery.

Police said Fernandez was using a replicated license plate that had been printed on paper and placed under a license plate cover.
