MALTA — A Milton woman has been arrested after being accused of leaving her two young children, including an infant, in her car while shopping.

Stephanie L. Pease, 27, allegedly left her 8-month-old and 2-year-old in an unlocked vehicle for 33 minutes while shopping at a grocery store in Malta.

While state police said the car was running, the air-conditioning was not on.

Temperatures at the time were 83 degrees and a heat advisory was in effect in southern Saratoga County.

Pease was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and released with an appearance ticket to re-appear in the Town of Malta court on Sept. 4.
