NISKAYUNA — A skateboarder has been hospitalized following what authorities are describing as an “auto-pedestrian crash” in Niskayuna on Wednesday night.

Luke Zink, 16, was listed in serious condition at Albany Medical Center, according to the Niskayuna Police Department.

Zink was dressed in dark clothing and riding a skateboard in the northbound lane of Balltown Road near Almeria Road at the time of the incident.

The driver of a 2013 Toyota Corolla, Brittany Gandara, was “extremely cooperative” during the investigation, authorities said.

Officials did not provide further crash details and didn’t immediately return a phone call seeking additional information on Thursday morning.

Zink was treated at the scene by Niskayuna Fire District No. 1. State police aided Niskayuna Police Department with reconstruction of the crash site.
