HALFMOON -- Two town residents were charged with crimes involving cruelty to a dog, said police.

Kayla S. Robinson, 23, and Eduardo Medina, 26, were arrested on Aug. 17 after officers from the Saratoga County Sheriff's Department received a call about a possibly neglected dog residing at a home on Firehouse Road.

The two were charged with animal cruelty, a misdemeanor, and accused of failing to provide sustenance to the animal and allowing it to live in inhumane conditions, police said. Both were released on appearance tickets to return to the Halfmoon Town Court at a later date.

The animal was taken to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, where it was given medical attention and food and water, police said.
