Why oppose those who are doing good

It’s sad how little compassion and understanding people have when they are bothered by something that’s very monochromatic, no shades of gray.
“I don’t like it, fix it,” then,“Look, all these people agree with me.” It’s a very cookie-cutter situation and the result can go either way depending on the facts, how truly wrong it is and who is the ultimate decision maker.
A guy buys a house and a while later realizes that his neighbor is a cat lady. Personal differences aside, they never tried resolving the feud. He judged her, acquired back-up testimonials and wants to destroy something he sees as wrong.
She chose to be a guardian of wayward animals (like the stolen bunny she found), educates on disease and is a conduit for healing, vaccinating, testing and neutering/spaying of animals.
She stays up all-night as a hospice nurse to those facing their end, or she is out trapping in the middle of nowhere. She’s bringing kitties to get “fixed” and vaccinated so they can be adopted. She’s vetting adopters so the animals go to proper homes.
He wants to stop a much needed resource for this area and beyond. The neighborhood is being helped by having someone maintain the population and limit the diseases that inhabit it far more than they are disturbing it. We are a cat rescue. But I assure you, we love all God’s creatures and want a way to continue our mission by being a voice for the voiceless.

Warn kids about the dangers of vaping

I would like to give my opinion about this latest vaping accident.
It doesn’t matter if it’s cigarettes, cigars, pipes, vaping or e-cigarettes. They all lead to cancer. If you have a smart girl or boy, tell them it’s no good. It doesn’t matter if it comes in different flavors; you still could get lung cancer, emphysema, asthma, etc.

New plates should reflect entire state

Who designed the new license plates for New York? Why is everything always about downstate?
Why no picture of the capitol in Albany or Lake George or Plattsburgh Air Force Base?
And a picture of the Mario Cuomo bridge? Really? Who selected that?
Even when I travel, I always have to say I am from upstate New York or people assume you mean New York City — like we up here aren’t part of New York.

Grateful for care and kindness to brother

I would like to thank the staff at Ellis Hospital for the great care of my brother, who is a person who is I/DD. The care was excellent. The patience that the staff showed was just outstanding. The staff on A-6 was just marvelous.
My brother at times can be very difficult but the staff was just so understanding.
I would also like to thank Schenectady ARC who sent a staff person to be with my brother 24/7. If you need a reason to join an organization that helps individuals with I/DD, this is just one of many.
