GANSEVOORT - A Gansevoort woman stole and activated $800 in gift cards while working at the Northumberland Dollar General, state police said.

Brittney E. Chrysler, 26, of Gansevoort, was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of first-degree falsifying business records, felonies, and one count of misdemeanor petit larceny.

Chrysler is accused of taking and activating the two gift cards from the Dollar General without paying for them. She then used a store register to cancel the transactions in an attempt to cover up the theft, state police said.

Chrysler was processed and released to appear in Northumberland court later.
