SCHENECTADY - A traffic stop early Monday in Schenectady netted a drunk driver - and a wanted California parolee, state police said.

Troopers pulled over the car shortly after 2 a.m. in Schenectady and found Nikco D. Polk driving, troopers said.

Troopers determined Polk, 42, most recently of Bethlehem, was intoxicated. A breath test determined his blood alcohol content at 0.14 percent, above the legal limit to drive, 0.08 percent.

Polk, though, initially gave troopers a false name. Troopers then determined his true identity and that he was wanted on a parole violation based on a robbery conviction in California, state police said.

Polk was charged with driving while intoxicated, and false impersonation, both misdemeanors. He was also held on the California matter.

He was processed, arraigned and ordered held without bail.
