ALBANY — A Guilderland man has been indicted for allegedly sexually exploiting a child and distributing child pornography, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Blake Spears, 38, was indicted on the charges Aug. 29, prosecutors said this week.
He is accused of sexually exploiting the child Dec. 1, distributing child pornography Dec. 26 and possessing child pornography Feb. 15, prosecutors said.
The child pornography charges relate to allegations Spears used a phone messaging application to distribute it and that agents found child pornography on a USB drive at his residence and on his cellphone, prosecutors said.
Spears has remained in custody since his February arrest, prosecutors said.
The case is being investigated by the FBI and its Child Exploitation Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Barnett is prosecuting.
