QUEENSBURY — Saratoga Hospital and Hudson Headwaters Health Network are planning a new urgent care center at the medical building the hospital proposes to build at Northway Exit 18.
If the facility is completed as proposed, it would offer urgent care, lab services, medical imaging, and office and clinical space for specialists of the Saratoga Hospital Medical Group.
Since 2001, Hudson Headwaters has operated an urgent care/primary care center on Broad Street in Glens Falls, about a mile away. THat site would continue to provide both until the new facility is completed, then see its primary care services expanded as urgent care is discontinued there.
The two healthcare providers previously have collaborated on endocrinology services in 2018 and recently announced a plan to work together on pulmonary services.
The site eyed for the new urgent care center at 124 Main St. previously housed Carl R’s restaurant. The hospital purchased it in 2017. It sits about two miles from Glens Falls Hospital, which last week voted to become an affiliate of Albany Medical Center, pending regulatory approval. Saratoga Hospital finalized its own affiliation with the regional healthcare giant in early 2017.
