MALTA — Members of the Malta Business and Professional Association voted Tuesday to merge the MBPA into the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County.
The MBPA’s board had recommended approval of the chamber’s offer, and with the vote, preparations will begin for the MBPA’s integration into the chamber effective Jan. 1.
MBPA President Michael York will join the chamber board as Malta’s representative. He said the move “ensures that our community will have aggressive and strong support and advocacy at the local, area and regional level, and the resources to help local entrepreneurs find needed resources, make solid connections, and attend quality, timely and useful events.”
The pending vote by members of the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County to potentially integrate that organization into the Capital Region Chamber means that the MBPA may gain new regional clout as a result of Tuesday’s vote, said CSSC President and CEO Pete Bardunias.
