SCHENECTADY - An Albany woman has been arrested in connection with a June Schenectady slashing, authorities said.

Nyjea L. Garrett, 18, was arrested Monday on one count of second-degree assault, a felony.

Garrett is accused of using an edged weapon or sharp instrument to cut the victim in the face June 23 on Frank Street in Schenectady, according to police allegations filed in court.

The victim suffered cuts that required medical attention at Ellis Hospital and follow-up care, authorities said.
