South Glens Falls field hockey beat Scotia-Glenville 3-1 Tuesday in the first event on Scotia's new turf field.

The South Glens Falls field hockey team scored a pair of second-half goals and defeated Scotia-Glenville 3-1 in the first athletic competition held on Scotia-Glenville’s new turf field Tuesday.

Jillian Willis, Katelyn Klotz and Mia Benincasa scored goals for South Glens Falls, and Taylor Hays had 14 saves. Bridget Malone scored for Scotia-Glenville.

Taryn Ringer piled up six goals, and Foothills Council leader Johnstown improved to 5-0 with a 7-0 win over rival Gloversville.

In Suburban Council boys’ soccer, Niskayuna tied CBA 2-2 Tuesday in a rematch of last year’s Section II Class AA final. Toby Goldner and Jackson Bishop each scored a goal for Niskayuna, while Jack Mendrysa scored both of CBA’s goals.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake tied Saratoga Springs 1-1. Tyler Clute scored the lone goal for Saratoga Springs, and Jacob Scott scored for Burnt Hills.

Tyler Tesoriero scored both goals to lift Mechanicville over Tamarac 2-1 in a Wasaren League boys’ soccer match.

In another Wasaren League match, Grant Baker and Isaac Cutler each scored three goals to help Stillwater shut out Saratoga Central Catholic 9-0.

In a Colonial Council boys’ soccer match, Schalmont defeated Watervliet 3-0, led by a goal and an assist from Sam Parisi.

In a Colonial Council girls’ soccer match, Sofia Cassano scored four goals and had an assist, Ashley Cirilla had two goals and three assists, Simone Cassano had two goals and two assists and Brooke Galka scored a pair of goals as Schalmont defeated Watervliet 16-1.

In another Colonial Council girls’ soccer match, Holy Names edged Cohoes 5-4, led by Ava Panto’s three goals. Hannah Raule scored two goals for Cohoes.
Schenectady girls volleyball defeated Guilderland 3-1. Juliana Venduro had 10 kills in the victory.
