Ciara Knott (Saratoga Springs), a freshman at SUNY Geneseo, was named NCAA Division III Women's National Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches (USTFCCCA) earlier this month.

That honor arrived for Knott after she finished first at the Aug. 30 St. John Fisher Terry Rodenbeck Invitational in her first collegiate race, beating out 124 other runners and finishing the race in 15:11.9 — nearly 14 seconds ahead of the runner-up.

Knott became the first Geneseo women's runner to ever collect the USTFCCCA honor.

Knott finished 16th in the Yellowjacket Invitational last weekend, finishing in 22:23.1.

On the season, Zwicklbauer has four goals and two assists through her team’s first six games.
