BURNT HILLS — Longtime Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake varsity girls' soccer coach Brian Bold is away from the team due to personal reasons, Spartans athletic director Joe Scalise confirmed Friday.
"He is out on medical leave at this time," Scalise said.
Scalise was unable to give details due to the personal nature of the situation, but indicated that the successful coach with numerous championships to his credit was still the high school's head coach.
"I don't know what the timetable is," Scalise said when asked if he knew when Bold would return.
Scalise later added, "He has not been removed."
Scalise said Bold has been away from the team for about two weeks. Marisah Boucher, who was coaching at the modified level, has taken charge of the varsity team in Bold's absence.
"She has done a fantastic job," Scalise said. "She works well with the girls. She has been with the program and the girls are familiar with her."
Burnt Hills reached the Section II Class A title game last season and lost to Averill Park.
Bold did not immediately return a request for comment from The Daily Gazette.
