SCHENECTADY - A city man illegally possessed a handgun and tried to run a woman off the road during a domestic dispute last week, authorities said.

Tony Velasquez, 32, of Shannon Street, was arrested last Monday night on one count each of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and misdemeanor reckless endangerment.

Velasquez is accused of chasing his ex-girlfriend on Broadway as both were in separate vehicles and trying to run the woman off the road just before 11 p.m. last Monday night, according to police allegations filed in court.

He is also accused of illegally possessing a loaded 9mm Taurus handgun at Broadway and Millard Street at 11 p.m. that night.
