Police: Man set fire on Schenectady porch

SCHENECTADY - A city man intentionally set fire to the back porch of a building earlier this month, authorities said.

Robert A. Noxon, 45, of State Street, was arrested last week and charged with one count of third-degree arson, a felony.

Noxon is accused of using an open flame to intentionally start a fire in available combustibles on the back porch of 1852 State St. at around noon Sept. 1, according to police allegations filed in court. The fire damaged the porch and building.

Police based the charges on, among other things, physical evidence, an identification and video evidence, according to the allegations.
