Sydney Reinisch took the last shot of the day, and it was a game-winner for Shenendehowa against rival Saratoga Springs in a Suburban Council field hockey showdown on Friday.

The Plainsmen and Blue Streaks played to a scoreless tie through two overtimes, forcing a shootout. Hunter Yourch and Will Pratt scored from among Saratoga’s five shooters, while Lauren Shanahan and Hannah Merritt each found the net among Shen’s first four shooters, leaving Reinisch. Her goal gave the Plainsmen a 1-0 victory.

Rachel Palladino scored two goals and had an assist to lead Shaker past Columbia 3-1 in another Suburban Council contest.

Liv Raucci scored three goals to power Mohonasen to a 6-0 shutout of Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk in a Colonial Council girls’ soccer game.

Aidan Fitzgerald of Albany Academy carded a one-under-par 70 to take overall medalist honors, and his Cadets won the team championship with a 300 total, 36 shots better than runner-up Ichabod Crane, in the Colonial Council Golf Championships at Sycamore Country Club.
In Suburban Council boys’ volleyball, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake ran its record to 7-1 in the SC and 9-1 overall with a 25-14, 25-17, 25-16 victory over Colonie. Jake Baker had 13 kills to lead the Spartans.
