SCHUYLERVILLE - A restaurant patron assaulted another restaurant patron in Schuylerville last month, state police said.

Troopers Tuesday arrested Shannon C. Phillips, 46, of Victory Mills, and charged him with one count of second-degree assault, a felony.

Troopers responded Sept. 19 to Clark's Steakhouse in Schuylerville for the reported altercation. Troopers arrived to find the victim unconscious on the floor of the outdoor bar area being treated by paramedics.

The investigation showed that the victim and Phillips got into an argument, leading Phillips to punch the victim in the head, leaving the victim unconscious, state police said.

A state police release did not indicate whether or not the suspect and victim knew each other prior to the incident.

The victim was taken to Saratoga Hospital for treatment.

Phillips was arraigned and released on $2,500 bail. He is due back in court later.
