Through five weeks of play in the 2019 Section II football season, here is our look at the top teams in each classification.
No. 1 Shaker (5-0) and No. 2 Shenendehowa (4-1) appear on track for a Week 10 showdown for the area championship. No. 3 Guilderland (3-2) doesn’t drop after losing to Shenendehowa, while No. 4 Bethlehem (3-2) and No. 5 CBA (4-1) repeat in their spots from last week. CBA at Shenendehowa is the matchup to watch this week in Class AA.

Another week delivered more fun in this classification. No. 1 Queensbury (5-0) keeps winning and has a firm grip on the top spot, but No. 2 Troy (4-1) moves up three spots after its big Week 5 win at Averill Park. No. 3 Ballston Spa (3-2) doesn’t drop after losing at Shaker and No. 4 Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (4-1) got back on track last week with a victory following its Week 4 loss to the Scotties. No. 5 Averill Park (4-1) slides three spots after its loss at home to the Flying Horses, and has to travel this week to Amsterdam to play a Rugged Rams squad on a three-game winning streak.

No. 1 Glens Falls (5-0) has won all its games by at least 21 points — and the same goes for No. 2 Holy Trinity (5-0). No. 3 Schuylerville (4-1) travels to No. 4 Cobleskill-Richmondville (3-2) this week, and the Bulldogs are coming off a loss against Class A’s La Salle. No. 5 Schalmont (3-2) plays at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk this week before ending its regular season with a home game against Holy Trinity.

With a 25-0 win at Class D’s Warrensburg, No. 1 Stillwater (5-0) added a solid win to its resume, while No. 2 Cambridge/Salem (4-1) fell 49-28 in its non-classification game against Class B’s Holy Trinity. No. 3 Fonda-Fultonville (5-0) is up a spot this week, while No. 4 Greenwich (4-1) is coming off a 14-0 win against Mechanicville. No. 5 Watervliet (2-2) takes Voorheesville’s place in this poll’s final spot after the Cannoneers defeated the Blackbirds 22-0 in Week 5.
