ALBANY — The University at Albany women’s basketball team was picked to finish third in this year’s America East Conference preseason poll, while junior Kyara Frame was a preseason all-conference pick.

UAlbany received one first-place vote in the poll, which the league released Wednesday. Two-time defending champion Maine was selected to finish first in the conference and garnered the eight other first-place votes in the poll, which did not allow coaches to vote on their own teams.

UAlbany finished 13-18 overall last season, but went 9-7 in conference play and advanced to the America East semifinals. Frames averaged a team-high 12.8 points per game last season and was a third-team all-conference selection.

UAlbany opens its 2019-20 season Nov. 5 at SEFCU Arena against Columbia.
