After seven weeks of play in the 2019 Section II football season, here is our final edition of power rankings for the year. Playoffs start this week in Class A, Class B and Class C, while Class AA and Class D postseasons begin in Week 8.

CLASS AA

This classification remains a steady one. No. 1 Shaker (7-0) and No. 2 Shenendehowa (6-1) continue to roll, while No. 3 Guilderland (5-2) and No. 4 Bethlehem (5-2) remain worthy challengers. No. 5 CBA (4-3) has lost three of four games since its 3-0 start.

This week: Shaker, Shenendehowa, Guilderland, Bethlehem, CBA.

Last week: Shaker, Shenendehowa, Guilderland, Bethlehem, CBA.

CLASS A

No. 1 Queensbury (7-0) and No. 2 Troy (6-1) each are No. 1 seeds for the playoffs. No. 3 Ballston Spa (5-2) remains a contender, but drops a spot given its uncertain coaching situation. No. 4 Burnt Hills (4-3) plays at No. 5 Averill Park (5-2) in this week’s playoffs in a matchup that should be one of the area’s top quarterfinals.

CLASS B

After a significant Week 7 result, this classification became a lot more interesting. No. 1 Glens Falls (7-0) stays up top, but No. 2 Schuylerville (6-1) moves up one after recording its fifth consecutive win. No. 3 Schalmont (5-2) also moves up a spot after its 35-22 win against No. 4 Holy Trinity (6-1), a squad which played last week’s first half without several key players and should remain one of the favorites in this classification if it can get itself back on track during the Week 8 quarterfinals. No. 5 Cobleskill-Richmondville (4-3) cannot be counted out when it plays at Schuylerville in Week 8.

This week: Glens Falls, Schuylerville, Schalmont, Holy Trinity, Cobleskill.

Last week: Glens Falls, Holy Trinity, Schuylerville, Schalmont, Cobleskill.

CLASS C

With a 38-point win, No. 1 Stillwater (7-0) ended its regular season on a high note. No. 2 Cambridge/Salem (6-1) has scored at least 41 points in five of its games this year. No. 3 Greenwich (6-1) trades spot with No. 4 Fonda-Fultonville (6-1) after the Braves’ 45-7 loss at Stillwater. No. 5 Watervliet (4-2) didn’t allow a point in its final three regular-season games.

This week: Stillwater, Cambridge/Salem, Greenwich, Fonda, Watervliet.

Last week: Stillwater, Cambridge/Salem, Fonda, Greenwich, Watervliet.

CLASS D

No. 1 Warrensburg (6-1) and No. 2 Chatham (5-2) remain the teams to beat in this classification, while No. 3 Whitehall (4-3) should provide Chatham a challenge in Week 9’s semifinals. No. 4 Corinth/Fort Edward (3-4) isn’t eligible for the postseason, while No. 5 Helderberg Valley (2-5) has won its last two games.

This week: Warrensburg, Chatham, Whitehall, Corinth/Fort Edward, Helderberg Valley.
