SCHENECTADY — Brewmageddon 2020, a festival and friendly competition for Northeast craft brewers, is being organized for Feb. 8 at the Schenectady Armory Center.

Frog Alley Brewing Company, which sits near the armory in the Mill Artisan District, is hosting the event. It said Thursday that the event will be a showcase for the brewers as well as their beer — brewery staff will be required to be on hand and to interact with the attendees of the event.

Tickets and more details will be available later in November.

“It is our intent to create an attraction here in Schenectady that will bring together the best in the business from the Northeast,” said JT Pollard, owner of Frog Alley Brewing Company. “We believe the time has come for there to be a festival that truly celebrates the brewers and figured, what better place to hold it than downtown Schenectady.”

Ray Legere, owner of the Schenectady Armory Center, said: “Our goal has always been to attract and support events that continue to establish Schenectady as a premiere destination in the northeast and I believe this event will do just that.”
