Women filmmakers focus of weekend Albany event

Northeast Filmmakers Lab heads to The Linda this weekend. Hosted by the Capital Cinema Cultural Exchange, the Lab will focus on female filmmakers and keynote speakers Kallen Blair and Alie B. Gorrie, producers of the Amazon Prime “Able: A Series” will offer opening remarks at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Later in the day, at 7:30 p.m., there will be a screening of “Able” followed by a Q and A with the producers.

There will be film presentations throughout the weekend and a gala mixer on Saturday, followed by a screening of “Hero Betrayed: Benedict Arnold,” which is a work in progress, filmed in and around the Capital Region. The film stars Peter O'Meara from the critically acclaimed series "Band of Brothers."

The Lab’s roster includes several other screenplays: “Background Biker” by Tracy Cring, “Lather” by Rich Lounello, “Supa Predator 2020” by Jo Blakk, “The Lesson Plan” by Jodi Levitan,” and others. For more info visit cinemaexchange.org.
