SARATOGA SPRINGS - Saratoga Springs Police are investigating a shot fired inside of Putnam Place, a bar and live music venue in the city, early Sunday morning, police said.
No injuries were reported and no suspect has been located, police said.
The incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday at the Putnam Street venue, police said. Officers on patrol in the area were outside as the venue started to empty. As it emptied, officers heard a single gunshot come from inside.
The shot caused the crowd to exit the establishment all together, police said. Officers entered, but were not able to find a victim or anyone responsible for firing a shot.
The department's preliminary investigation inside heard a gunshot, police said.
Police determined that the shot came just after some type of physical altercation inside the venue, police said.
Police conducted numerous interviews at the scene as the patrons left, police said. The crowd eventually dispersed without any further incidents, police said.
Putnam Place staff were part of the interview process and they were cooperative with officers and investigators, police said.
Playing Saturday night into Sunday morning at the venue were acts Kushie Sunoco and Frencho Xantana, among others. The show was scheduled from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m., according to the Putnam Place website. Putnam Place was once known as Putnam Den.
Police notified surrounding law enforcement agencies and regional hospitals of the incident, but no victim has been found, police said Monday.
Police continued Monday to comb through surveillance footage, as well as at least one video taken by someone there, police said.
"The nature of the shot being fired should be a cause for public concern, however our initial believe is this was an isolated incident," police said in a release.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Saratoga Springs Police at 518-584-1800 or call 518-584-TIPS to remain anonymous, police said.
