BALLSTON SPA - A Brooklyn man broke into a Ballston Spa apartment last week, police said.

Tahir Toloa was arrested Friday night and charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, and other charges, police said.

The incident happened just after 6:30 p.m. at an apartment on Milton Avenue, police said. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance and of a man attempting to get inside, police said.

Officers soon found Toloa and placed him under arrest, police said. Police said they believe Toloa was known to the victim.

Toloa also faces misdemeanor charges of trespass, criminal mischief, attempted assault, attempted criminal mischief, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and obstructing emergency medical services, police said.

Toloa was arraigned and ordered held. He is to return to court later.
