GREENFIELD - A Milton man was killed Monday night when the car he was in left the roadway in Greenfield and struck a house, Saratoga County Sheriff's officials said.

No one was inside the house at the time, officials said.

The driver killed was identified as Robert D. Senecal, 51, of Middleline Road, Milton, officials said.

The crash happened just before 9 p.m. Monday on North Greenfield Road, officials said.

The vehicle had been on North Greenfield when the operator failed to negotiate a curve and then left the roadway, officials said. Senecal's vehicle then hit an earthen embankment and became airborne and struck the residence.

Senecal was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The crash is being investigated by the sheriff's road patrol, criminal investigations unit and the collision reconstruction unit.

The sheriff's office was assisted at the scene by the Greenfield Fire Department and Jessups Landing EMS.
