SCHENECTADY - A Rotterdam woman drove while impaired with a 5-year-old child in her car Saturday afternoon, city police allege.

Dana L. Ward, 33, of Cox Avenue, was arrested Saturday and charged with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated and misdemeanor child endangerment and resisting arrest, city police allege.

Ward is accused of driving while impaired by drugs around 1 p.m. Saturday on State Street, near Moyston Street with the child as a passenger, according to police allegations filed in court.

Ward is also accused of resisting arrest by allegedly refusing officer commands to step out of her vehicle, according to the police allegations.

The officer ultimately "had to remove her by pulling her arm and body out of the car," according to the police allegations.
