GLOVERSVILLE - An early Wednesday afternoon crash on Route 30A in Gloversville sent two people to the hospital, one by helicopter, police said.
The crash happened at about 12:43 p.m. between S. Kingsboro Avenue and Harrison Street, police said.
Officers arrived to find one vehicle in the roadway and the other off the road in a marshy area east of Route 30A, police said.
One driver suffered what police described as minor injuries and was taken to Nathan Littauer Hospital.
The other driver suffered what police described as serious injuries and was taken by helicopter to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, police said.
The crash had Route 30A between Harrison and S. Kingsboro closed for the investigation and it was expected to remain closed for several hours, police said mid-afternoon.

Police were assisted at the scene by Gloversville firefighters, Fulton County Emergency Management, the Fulton County Sheriff's Office and the Greater Amsterdam Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office also responded to assist in accident reconstruction.
