SHENANDOAH, Texas — Union College sophomore running back Ike Irabor was named to the D3football.com All-America third team, it was announced on Friday night prior to Stagg Bowl XLVII.

Irabor becomes just the second Union running back to earn D3football.com All-America honors, joining two-time selection Tom Arcidiacono, a 2007 graduate. The first sophomore in program history to earn D3football.com national recognition, Irabor is one of only two underclassmen in the country on the offensive side of the ball to be honored this season.

Irabor was named the Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-Region selection after averaging over 111 yards per game on the ground with 1,231 yards and 16 touchdowns on 229 carries. He finished the season seventh on the school single-season list in rushing touchdowns and eighth in single-season rushing yards.

In his first two seasons with the Dutchmen, Irabor ranks sixth in school history with 26 rushing touchdowns and has amassed 2,209 yards in 20 games (110.45 ypg) for an average of 5.85 yards per rush.
