ALBANY - Two Schenectady men face drug charges after a Saturday night traffic stop on the Thruway in Albany, state police said.
The incident happened just before 11 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 87. Troopers spotted a vehicle and traffic violation and stopped the car.
While troopers interviewed the driver, they gained probable cause to search the vehicle, state police said. Inside, troopers found 122 grams of crack cocaine, state police said.
State police arrested both people in the vehicle, Aaron J. Sylvester, 30, and Andre K. Hawkins, 33, both of Schenectady. They were each charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felonies.
They were arraigned and ordered held pending preliminary hearings scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
