SCHENECTADY — Troy-based law firm E. Stewart Jones Hacker Murphy said Tuesday it will add an office at Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Schenectady renaissance and look forward to making our legal services more easily available to a larger geographical area,” E. Stewart Jones Jr. said in a news release.
The firm, which dates to 1898, expects to take occupancy in the first quarter of this year. It will be the latest in a widely varied roster of commercial tenants that ranges from a craft brewery to a solar power/energy storage spinoff from General Electric, and which moves Mohawk Harbor closer to its ideal as a live-work-play-stay waterfront community.
Rental apartments, townhouses, hotels, a marina, indoor and outdoor performance spaces and a casino are clustered in a $500 million-plus redevelopment of the derelict Alco locomotive factory campus, with an aquasports center proposed and additional construction envisioned in the future.
