ROTTERDAM - A Saratoga Springs man has been arrested in connection with a home burglary this week in Rotterdam's Coldbrook neighborhood, police said.

Joshua A. Allen, 29, was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with one count of second-degree burglary, a felony, and petty larceny, a misdemeanor.

The incident happened Monday afternoon at a home on Helen Street, police said. Officers were called to the area for a report of a burglary in progress, police said.

Officers arrived and found Allen, who matched a witness description of the suspect. He was found with tools, jewelry and electronics stolen from the Helen Street residence, police said.

Allen was arraigned and released under supervision of probation, court officials said. He is due back in court next week.
