MOREAU - A Gansevoort man was arrested last week on a felony, accused of violating an order of protection, state police said Wednesday.

Then, after his arrest and while he was waiting in a state police interview room, he urinated in a corner of the room, troopers said.

Adam J. Belair, 35, of Ganesevoort, was charged Jan. 20 with aggravated family offense, a felony, along with four misdemeanors.

Troopers responded that day to a residence in Moreau for a domestic dispute where Belair was accused of entering the victim's home and refusing to leave, violating an order of protection, state police said.

He also took the victim's cell phone to prevent the victim from calling police, troopers said.

Troopers found Belair asleep in a bedroom of the residence and he then resisted arrest as troopers tried to take him into custody, state police said.

He was taken back to the station and charged. The misdemeanors issued are criminal trespass, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and criminal contempt, state police said.

He was issued an appearance ticket and released to appear in court later.

Troopers later reviewed the video recording of Belair's interview and discovered he had urinated in the corner of the station interview room, state police said.

Troopers Monday then located Belair and charged him with third-degree criminal tampering, a misdemeanor, related to the interview room incident. He was issued an appearance ticket and released.
