ALBANY — The College of Saint Rose announced Wednesday that it had received a $1.2 million grant from The Pussycat Foundation for the BOLD Women’s Leadership Network.
BOLD operates at Saint Rose and five other colleges and universities throughout the United States. Among other needs, the funding helps underwrite BOLD Scholars’ college costs, enabling them to focus on their education, leadership development, and career launch. Currently, 14 juniors and seniors at Saint Rose serve as BOLD Scholars.
The Pussycat Foundation was founded by longtime Cosmopolitan editor Helen Gurley Brown and named after her favored term of endearment.
The donation announced this week is the second of its kind to Saint Rose. In 2018, the college received $1 million to establish the BOLD Women’s Leadership Network on campus, along with a $100,000 Helen Gurley Brown Genius Grant awarded to Saint Rose President Carolyn J. Stefanco.
