AMSTERDAM - A Tuesday afternoon vehicle chase began in one county and ended in another, Montgomery County Sheriff Jeffery Smith said.

Smith said the chase started in Amsterdam and ended on Interstate 890 in Schenectady, near Erie Boulevard and General Electric, at about 1:30 p.m.

The driver hit a guardrail on 890, ending the chase, Smith said. No injuries were reported.

Further details on the incident were not immediately available Tuesday evening.

Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Schenectady police, along with state police and Canadian Pacific Railroad police, assisted, Smith said.
