The Niskayuna Senior Center will be closed for all activity starting Friday through Monday, March 30.
During the two-week closure, the Town of Niskayuna will clean the facility.
Pending recommendations from the county and state health departments and the federal Centers for Disease Control, the center will reopen Tuesday, March 31.
Town officials said that while no confirmed cases of coronavirus have been connected to the center, the closure is a precaution.
During the closure, senior center staff will work to assist seniors who use the town's senior bus for personal transportation to regular medical appointments and for grocery shopping. The bus will continue to operate Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. to provide this service.
Staffers can be reached at the center phone line, 518-372-4969. The driver can be contacted on the bus phone, 518-495-6202 to schedule transportation.
All questions regarding the closure can be directed to Linda O’Brien at 518-372-4969.
Seniors in need of home delivery of meals are asked to visit the Catholic Charities Meals on Wheels Service website or by calling 518-372-5667.
