A message to our readers: We will remain committed to you amid the COVID-19 crisis
John DeAugustine, Daily Gazette President and Publisher

I am writing today to update the Daily Gazette family of readers on our plans during the COVID-19 pandemic. We certainly understand the disruption this is having on our communities and we truly hope you and your loved ones are making it through safely.

I want to assure you that the Daily Gazette will continue to publish and deliver every day both in print and electronically during this crisis and for a long time to come. Our dedicated group of news, production, and distribution people are focused and prepared to execute at a high level while adapting to the quickly changing pressures on our society. We know you turn to us for the news of the day and we are honored to be able to supply this to you. As always we will keep our website updated at all times and our print product complete with the information you need to navigate our community. If you have a story idea or you see something we may be missing please reach out to us at our main Gazette email address: [email protected].

The vast majority of our news and office team is working remotely while our production and distribution teams are reporting for duty every day. We have taken great strides to ensure that our production facility and the people working in it are safe and that the area itself is disinfected. To this end we have banned any outside guests from the Daily Gazette building and strictly limited direct interaction between employees.

We are focused intently on localizing the COVID-19 coverage to help our readers better understand the impact on our communities while giving a solid overview of the global effect. To help accomplish this we will be offering pages dedicated to the local facts you need to know about the pandemic and pages on where you can turn to for help. We also understand that many of you are spending much more time at home so we will be adding a puzzle book to our Thursday newspaper to help you pass the time.

Thank you for your continued support of the Daily Gazette and we hope to continue to earn your trust every time we publish.
